The exhibition Praising Philadelphia features paintings and board release by Damian Smith. Included are cityscapes, landscapes and a collection of portraits to honor the skateboarders of Love park. Love park has been the life-center of skateboarding in Philadelphia since the inception of east coast skateboarding. It brought together a diverse mix of individuals from all backgrounds, ages and ethnicities. Love park was a sanctuary and training ground. I spent more than half of my life at 15th and jfk riding a skateboard with all of my friends. The portraits will remain as part of a permanent collection at Nocturnal to remind future generations of Philadelphia skateboarders of their roots.
